A campaign to improve the layout of a dangerous road junction in Welham Green has been launched by Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps.
Mr Shapps and Parish Councillor Teresa Travel have been working hard to get Hertfordshire County Council to address the dangerous layout of the junction of Dixons Hill Road and Swanland Road, which has been the scene of several accidents.
“I’ve written to Hertfordshire County Council about the junction, only to be told that, in summary, the Council is content with the current state of the junction. I don’t believe that this is an acceptable resolution.” Mr Shapps said.
To escalate the situation, he has started a new campaign to show Hertfordshire County Council how road users feel about this dangerous junction.
Mr Shapps has also written to the Hertfordshire County Council Chief Executive to ask that he accompany him on a site visit to the junction so that he can see its dangerous layout first hand.
Grant will gather names and present this petition to the Hertfordshire County Leader when he accompanies me on the visit to see the junction in person.
“I will continue fighting on issues like this until we get the change we need” Grant commented.
