Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps went to visit the Sainsbury’s team in Welwyn Garden City recently to catch up and hear how things have been going for the store.
He received an update regarding the new ways people are increasingly shopping with the store, including using their Nectar accounts to ‘scan and go’ by using ‘SmartShop’. He also talked about the plans they had for Comic Relief throughout the next month.
Grant said: “I was delighted to visit the team at Sainsbury’s in Welwyn Garden City to hear about their plans for this year’s Comic Relief. The kind of work our local Sainsbury’s does places the store right at the heart of our local community. From my conversation with shoppers it’s clear that this year’s fundraising will be a huge success”.
Sainsbury’s said: “It was great to have our local MP come down to see how the store is doing, as well as to talk through with him the projects and work we are doing for Comic Relief and the community as a whole “.
