I’ve been working to get the Hertfordshire County Council to address the dangerous layout of the junction of Dixons Hill Road and Swanland Road.
I’ve been working with parish councillor Teresa Travell on this issue for some time. I’ve written to Herts County Council about the junction, only to be told that, in summary, the Council is content with the current state of the junction. In fact, the council suggested that because engineering interventions took place in 2015-16, slightly reducing the collision rate, no further action to improve the junction is planned.
I don’t believe that this is an acceptable resolution. This road layout is regularly the scene of collisions, and everyone in Welham Green knows it.
To escalate this situation, I’ve therefore written to the Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) Chief Executive to ask that he accompany me on a site visit to the junction, in order that he can see its dangerous layout first hand.
Now I am asking for your help too.
