St Michael’s Church showcasing local arts and crafts was “absolutely wonderful” said Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps.
St Michael’s Church in Woolmer Green held an event on the 23rd and 24th of September that displayed an array of local arts and crafts, with the main focus being on the work of the famous woodcarver Harry MacDonald.
Mr Shapps visited St Michael’s to see the exhibition for himself and was given a tour of the various pieces that were on display.
He said:
“This event is absolutely wonderful. “It is so important to remember the fantastic work of famous local figures such as Harry MacDonald.”
“The effort that Judith and the whole team at St. Michael’s have put in to host this event is heartwarming. Well done!”.
Judith Watson, a former local councillor for Woolmer Green and organiser of the exhibition thanked Mr Shapps for attending:
“It was a delight to welcome Grant to St Michael’s church. We hope he found the Woodcarver of Woolmer Green’s sculptures absolutely fascinating!”
