The Willow Foundation charity run was held today with hundreds of residents taking part including Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps.
The Willow Foundation holds an annual charity run at the grounds of Hatfield House which raises money for young adults with life-threatening illnesses.
Grant Shapps showed his support for the charity by joining in on the run with his wife Belinda and other participants. He said:
“The Willow Foundation charity run raises for such an important cause”.
“After opening last year’s race, I knew I just had to get involved myself this year. It was heart-warming to see so many people join in to show their support for everything the Willow Foundation does for ill young adults in Welwyn Hatfield and beyond.”
Medals were given out after the race to participants by the former England goalkeeper David Seaman and Mr Shapps spent time talking to fellow runners.
Mr Shapps thanked the Willow Foundation for putting on another fantastic charity run and for all the important work they do as an organisation.
