Bye..Shep..

do you know the Andersons or Shaws from Port ???  only ask as you would be a bit younger than my gran who died 3 weeks ago in luton and i know my auntie is trying to trace freinds and lost family although we know a lot went to canada in the 60`s ... Hi Bonjour....I came here when I was 3..My dad was born in the Port..Glenhuntly house..we had many friends from Greenock and surrounding areas coming to live in Luton..My Godmother..Married name Dart but came from a large Kelly family most of them living in Luton..Have'nt heard from any off them for over thirty years..Don't know anyone in my birth town now..I was born in Kilblain Buildings..I think there's a Supermarket there now..I went on-line a bit back looked at pics of long ago..Found my dad's old house..Looking real sad..now demolished.. My old school I attended when I went back during the war..Jean St. School..The site..I think was Inverclyde Council..maybe your Aunt may like to take a look..If I can be of any help..let me know..Although there is very little I remember of those far off days..
Shep..
Sorry..think it was this one for Port Glasgow..  http://www.portglasgow4u.co.uk/oldphotos/index.html   there is also one somewhere for Greenock..Search on Google..

many thanks , had to laugh at some of those old pictures . i have now passed the website details on to my family ... there was a Pat Kelly who was at my grans funeral he worked at vauxhall motors most of his life and married a northern woman call Val . I think they must both be about 68-70ish now as my nan was 78 but they were my grandparents best freinds . he used to smoke a pipe but packed it in for his 65 birthday

Hello every one I am married guy of 27 from ST Albans rd west Hatfield and born and bread. Never thought I would see the day I cared about politics but am finding it harder and harder with my feelings to stay away from the way I am feeling these days as I see a government stand back and see the country sold out. I treat people how they treat me and I don’t judge any one by colour or creed , but in saying this I will call a spade a spade and like above posting do not buy into this new PC and love everyone it don’t work and I treat any man as they treat me . I also play football for social whites football team in Hatfield and a huge QPRFC fan so some of guys will know me as there only about 5 of us in the town .I would like to think I am well liked and well known in the area ……. I never knew this website untill i see some articles posted on the i spy website .

Hello Everyone,

I am Richard and I have just moved from London, as I wanted to live in Welwyn Garden City to get away from the madness! I am interested in local affairs and history.

David 42. Born and bred WGC. I have left WGC many times, but always seem to end up back here.  Think 'Children of the Stones' ?

I grew up in the Hal Grove area, but later moved to Panshanger.

I am an actor (who wants a real job?) Been in The Bill and currently playing a US Marine in a new Paul Greengrass/Matt Damon film, which will be taking me to Morocco in a few weeks.

I also make short films and my next project will be taking place here in WGC this summer, so look out for the crew poking innocent pedestrians in the eye with the boom mike ...

Hi people,

My name is Laura Brown.

I am 24 years old

I live in Hertford and I found this forum through Hospital SOS.

Is there any chance of expanding this forum to cover the whole of Hertfordshire?

Hi Larua

It is Grant Shapps website  /forum.  Perhaps you could ask your local MP to set up a Forum for his area? I think Grant can only cover the area he is MP for. (is this correct anyone?).

ft - Welcome to the Forum - take a look at the 'Town Centre' threads - you will find them interesting - but probably depressing.

Kay,
Thanks for the welcome, your right after reading through 2 pages of posts i didn't go any further, it was a depressing read even more so with the lack of posting by people making the decisions about the town.

Anyway thanks again for the welcome

Hi all
I have been reading this forum on and off for a while, and now have made the commitment to register. I was born in WGC and have raised 2 children, I now have 4 grandchildren. Most of my family live here in both WGC and Hatfield, the eldest being my grandmother who's 96 and the youngest my granddaughter who's 2 months. So my concerns for the future of the borough is important to me.

Regards
Hannibal
