I was shocked
« on: July 18, 2010, 04:54:09 PM »
On Friday night around 00.15 I was walking near woodhall lane with my dog when I saw this young lad around 20ish standing on the path when all of a sudden there was this police officer shouted stay there to him which he did and then this officer jumped on him then I saw this officer THUMPED this young lad in the mouth  :o

Ok I don't know what this lad done { if anything }but he was NOT fighting back nor threaten in any way to this officer so why jump on him and thump him !!!!!! There was also other officers around also who saw this. Now if he was fighting back or swearing I could understand this, but he was not he was just standing there when asked to stop. No wonder people don't have faith in the police anymore.

If anyone knows who this lad was and he want's a witness i would be willing to stand up and make a statement against this officer !! I normally have praise for the police but not anymore. when I hear of such things I myself always think they are making it up !!! but I have now seen it with my own eyes now and can understand why so many people don't like the police anymore and have no respect for them when they treat people like this !!

Is this the future for the police ? jump in and punch then ask questions after, did this police officer really feel the need to do this to a young lad even though he was half his size and he had back up with other officers if need be. I was so shocked what I saw I was awake most of the night just thinking what happened.

What a disgrace and I hope this lad make a complaint as the police officer should be professional and not a thug himself. As i said I don't know what he did but can't see any reason why he would be treated like this, even after when he got up from the floor the lad did not struggle at all.

The police force is a disgrace and the other officers should have step in and stopped this thug of a officer.

If you wan tot make a complaint, write to the Professional Standards department.  If you give them the full details and location they should be able to find out who and what was involved.  I can't think of a reason for it except maybe a concealed weapon.  I would need all the history and facts before making a judgement.

Hi HG

I will pm you all the details tomorrow as got to get up at 4am and it will take a while for me to type everything. If this young lad was carrying a knife, gun or something else you would have thought he would have got search there and then while on the floor and the other police officers also on top of this young chap ??? why would the other police officers just stand by if he was a danger to this officer ? they all watch this going on and just stood there  ::)

I don't think he was a danger to anyone otherwise the other police officers would have joined in on the jump to protect the thug officer ?  ::) I really do think this was way OTT  Anyway I try and pm you the details tomorrow,if not on Tue as bit busy with work at the moment.

Someone carrying a weapon surely isn't going to be stopped by a punch in the mouth! Don't they teach officers how to deal with someone properly at Hendon any more??

Sadly, the hidden camera videos exposing police officers being heavy handed - including even the videos on shows like 'Road Wars' where the police are knowingly being filmed, don't do many favours to the police.

I can sort of understand where they're coming from; you've got some known scrote that is always laughing in the face of the law. Police officers are never getting anywhere, the legal system never punishes and the cycle goes on. Said officer loses it; bam. But, while I CAN understand why these things happen, it's still not right. Getting 'even' with someone known to the police is risky; they could be innocent (albeit unlikely) but it will also get loads of resentment.

Besides the support for Moat here, what about the rioting in France when the police killed an armed robber? Seems that the police can't do the right thing anymore, but did the police bring this on themselves? Tough call, and not one I can answer.

HG, you have a pm ;D I also can say! but not to much ::) this young lad went around the houses asking if any body saw what happened that night!! and he knocked on my friend house who I told the next day about what i saw that night !! he passed on my phone number to him and he has phoned me already :o

I will update when every thing has been sorted, but must say there is a bad apple in every force ::) and don't brush every police officer with the same brush,as this young lad said most are great  but just this one. I just hope the other police officers who saw this will stand up and speak out ?

I can also say this is a on going thing with this police officer and with this young lad!! been going on for a few years, so I am told.

Now, if this young lad was a TROUBLE MAKER! why bother knock on doors to ask if people if they saw anything ?

Hi Mark,
You're right, there are a few bad apples in every force which is why they have PSD and the IPCC.  The good thing is that the majority are not bad and the good ones believe that the bad ones should be punished just like everyone else.  If this officer is a thug he needs to be stopped just like any other thug.

Hi HG

A complaint has now gone in on line, so I am told.Just hope the other officers who saw this wont lie on what happened that night ::) I am sure the truth will come out and this officer will be dealt with.

I admire what you've done, but in the light of current events, I'd not be holding my breath for any form of justice if I was you.

Hi Bowkers Cat,

I will attend court if need be and if this officer still get's away with it ? I will take it further myself as I know what I saw that night,it's not fair or right. I have spoken to this young lad and if you knew what he told me you would be :o But can't say anything just yet!! if you understand ;D

Have to say though, IF true what he told me,this will be a open and closed case and this young lad has no worries anymore. This police officer does give the police force a bad name and I was so shocked what I saw.

Be prepared for reprisals because they will happen, you will suddenly find you will be stopped for obscure motoring offences, that you probably have not committed !

Hi Mutual Respect

All my driving life I have never even had a parking ticket and no points ;D So if this did happen and I was a target!! it would look a bit funny don't you think ? Still, justice needs to be done and if I get picked on after this is all over ? then I would shout from the roof tops and cause more bother for the police. I don't think this will come to this though. I won't go quite and if they think I would they are so wrong ;D

You really think they haven't got anything better to do?

I hope there's a positive outcome from this and not a 'no further action' conclusion.

I hope so too, because Mark has stuck his neck out and without a doubt he will be made to pay for it,especially if the officer is repremanded !
