Plans have been submitted to transform the former Job Centre next to the main Post Office in WGC town centre into a Prezzo - pizza, pasta and salad etc.  I'd say that's akin to going from dole to dough :)

As an aside, a brief glimpse of the application shows it would have 100 seats. It's position is directly opposite Pizza Express, adjacent to Pizza Hut and 100 metres diagnoal to Ask, that also does pizzas and pastas etc.

relating to WGC shops, I was in the Isabel Hospice shop in WGC this morning as a gang of workmen were demolishing the shop front next door (it was a gift shop).  Apparently it is to become a hairdressers - an 'upmarket hairdressers' I was told - as if we need another one of those!

So there will be even more Pizza menus coming through the letter box soon... doh!

Surely, as with supermarket floorspace, there must be statistics to say that we have sufficient Pizza / Pasta places... and with hairdressers too! And surely these are additional service industries we can do without. They are not going to add a significant number of jobs to the area...
