Don't bother with Specsavers.... had glasses since last February  - 09 and can't see 'b' all with them on or off..... Can't afford another pair and am really angry with them for their 'tacky sales'  (pressurising me at the time to buy something I didn't really want).

DO DON't GO TO SPECSAVERS!

I suggest you have another eye test to see if your eyesight has got worse, or if you were tested wrong the first time. Did the glasses ever 'work'? If not, why did you buy them?!

If they did, It's likely you will need different lenses.

The first pair of glasses I got, years ago, were from Boots Opticians... and they put the lenses in the wrong eyes. Not being use to glasses, I thought that I needed time to adjust. When I eventually convinced myself that there must be something wrong and went back, they told me the problem and said they could correct them... which they did... BUT they never apologised for their mistake...

John - when I got them, I simply did not have the energy to go back and complain. When I did say something to them I was told I needed time to 'get used to them'.  Having already paid a silly deposit for them, I was concerned I'd end up with NO glasses at all.

All I wanted was basic glasses.... e.g. one for reading and one for long distance.  Before I knew it, I ended up with a prescription for verifocals - which were not VERY FOCAL at all!!.

I had set by a couple of pairs of the 'cheaper' frames before I had the test. If and when I go there again, (Which I DOUBT I WILL) I'll ask them to use my 'old glasses' and just put in new lenses. I was recently told, a person can ask for that - didn't know before.  I really couldn't afford the glasses and had to pay a deposit on overdraft AND then the rest on overdraft a while later.

I still can't see 'B' all with them on or off. A couple of other people have also said they had this experience. I have never got used to them - I mentioned it the other day at the bank and the assistant told me her mother or mother-in-law had her lenses put in upside down!!

I wear contact lenses and never use glasses although Specsavers insisted I had glasses as a back up. I asked them to put new lenses in an old pair of frames (from Specsavers) and it ended up costing me more than a complete new pair of glasses (£113.00) so using old frames isn't necessarily a cheaper option!!! :(

Crikey! Really?  I'll shop around next time I go to get my eyes tested - in another FOUR YEARS!  I did say to them "see you in FIVE YEARS" - don't think they believed me.. will take me that long to save for another damned pair!
