Young people in the borough are being encouraged to compete in '3 Music', a three-tiered music and dance competition for young people in Hertfordshire; three great competitions and three chances to be discovered!
Organised by Inspirational Arts, the competitions are sponsored by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and neighbouring local authorities as a platform to showcase pure, young, fresh talent from Welwyn Hatfield. The competitions are:
Dance it Up! a dance competition for 12-18 year olds to find the most talented young dance soloists or groups (up to 4 persons) to attend West End and BBC TV choreographer run workshops. Routines should be prepared on a theme - 'Famous Dance Icons'.
Pop Luck a singing contest for 12-18 year old soloists or groups (up to 4 persons), where the lucky winner will learn what it's like to be a pop star. They'll receive a session at a top recording studio and will walk away with a personal demo track, live publicity shots and star in their own music video!
Music MiX a chance for aspiring, 14-21 year old lyricists and composers to showcase their own work in front of industry experts and perform live at The Forum, Hatfield. Any music style is welcome.
Workshops and auditions are happening from February to April 2010.
Councillor Irene Dean, Youth Champion said: "I'm delighted that talented young people in the borough have this opportunity to be spotted and get their career in dance and music underway from an early age. I look forward to seeing some of the performances when the auditions come to Campus West. Good luck to everyone who enters."
