...Grant Shapps, shadow housing minister, insisted in a keynote speech at the RIBA today that a Conservative government would "kick start street-level initiatives" to build new houses, despite reports at the weekend it had written to Tory councils advising them to delay controversial developments....

I believe that talks about new homes in the East of England are due to take place this week.. this puts me back into stress mode as I live right on the edge of one of the last proposals.. those that have the original map of the LaFarge "wish" to build.. to the east.. near the Nature Reserve.. that's where I live.. I could maybe sell my paddock for building.. bringing in a decent pile.. more money than I could ever dreamed of.. but I say a big NO.. leave this piece of land to farming and the wilds animals that live here.. it is isolated and would cost a fortune for roads. here it's a one track lane.. to one side houses.. to the other a lake..

Shep,
There are, apparently, 81 possible sites in Welwyn Hatfield. mythoughts found this link: http://www.whtimes.co.uk/flatfiles/story_pdfs/SHLAA.pdf.

According to the council, http://www.shapps.com/forum/index.php/topic,5795.0.html, "The East of England Regional Assembly (EERA) consultation takes place on Monday 9 November at 6.30pm in the Fielder Centre, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield."

Are you going? Is anyone going?

Hi Anne
My area is not on this list but that doesn't mean much as this place is Green Belt.. I wonder if the people living near those listed know about it.. bet not..
