All,

I received this Dear Stakeholder letter this week and whenever I receive a letter addressing me as a 'stakeholder' you always know it will contain management waffle. At least in this respect I wasn't let down.

The letter goes on to explain that the Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) which were only introduced by this same government back in 2002 and have been endlessly reorganised, most recently into two for Hertfordshire, will be abolished or maybe that's just renamed.

Apparently the PCT currently contains a "provider arm" and it's now critically important to perform an urgent operation to remove it's other "commissioning arm" for reasons that the follow letter attempts to explain.

We're told that the operation that will divide the different parts of the local PCT will take place on April 1st 2009.

Here's the letter. You have to read it because you couldn't make it up.

Maybe this is an April 1st joke given the date?

Also, read this re commissioning. Indeed, I'm sure other news will come out re the "commissioning" topic soon:

No wonder they need to recruit a new spin doctor - sending out a letter on 31st March about a change that will happen the day after.. how many more last minute surprises can we expect?

Sorry if that sounds "hostile" or "antagonistic" PCT. Why don't they just go the whole hog and rearrange as TCP - that's about the only reliable medical aid we'll have around here soon!

Oh yeah, let's not forget that the Healthcare Commission that exposed the nightmare in Staffs is about to evaporate too...

Please don't stitch us up with A&E closure
