Re: A1(M) Noise Suppression

The A1M noise suppression farrago seems to be very splintered with no central communication.  Grant Shapps' website hasn't been updated for over 6 months.

The LibDems most recent pamphlet says that councillors have met and 'their recommendation has gone, via our MP, to the minister for a decision'.  Jolly good, so what does this mean?  Where can we see this report?   etc.

At least it is good to see that resolution of the issue has moved on from blind faith in the illusionary 'whisper-quiet' tarmac.

Yet again a major incident yesterday afternoon at Jn6 on the A1M causes chaos in Welwyn and the surrounding areas.

There is realistically only one way to resolve this problem and that is to at least widen the A1M northbound from Jn6.

The fact of effectively dropping the motorway from 4 lanes [including the northbound entrance road] to 2 lanes and up a major gradient is asking for trouble. Even on the M25 [and the A505 between Hitchin and Luton] crawler lanes exist to reduce the impact of gradients on the flow of traffic.[/i]
