Campaigns headed up by Grant Shapps

Grant's a campaigning MP, but even before he was elected he was working on behalf of Welwyn Hatfield residents.

ALWAYS CAMPAIGNING

For six years before being elected as Welwyn Hatfield's new MP, Grant has worked extraordinarily hard to earn your support.  Responsible for spearheading literally hundreds of high profile campaigns, he's developed popular websites to highlight some of the big issues. Now as the elected Member of Parliament Grant has continued that tradition of campaigning, often using websites to widen the appeal of his campaigns nationwide.

www.SaveMySurgery.com
Government proposals for a central super-surgery sparked fears amongst some Welwyn Hatfield GPs about a potential threat to the existing network of 8 surgeries. The problem would arise if too many people de-register from their existing GP surgeries.

www.HospitalSOS.com
As Welwyn Hatfield's MP Grant has brought the entire community together to fight under a single Hospital SOS banner in an attempt to keep acute hospital services in the area.

www.NoWayTo10k.com

The Welwyn Hatfield campaign against building 10,000 new houses on our green belt..

www.SaveTheQE2.com
This is the campaign that Grant has set up to fight for the QE2 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City. It's a long running campaign with various highlights along the way, like a rally and march and collection of a huge petition which is to be presented to Parliament.

www.scan24.org
An earlier campaign, "Save Children's A&E 24 Hours a day", aimed at highlighting the closure of the night time children's paediatric assessment unit.

www.HatfieldParking.com
This is the campaign to get the parking situation in Hatfield improved. There has been some good news on this issue with the University paying for £600,000 of proposed Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) and a Park and Ride scheme, but residents are rightly worried that they will have to foot the bill for parking outside of their own homes. Grant Shapps is campaigning for the University to pick up the tab.

www.PanshangerSaysNO.com
A successful campaign to fend off gravel extraction in Panshanger.  Campaign now closed. Job done.

www.Quieter-A1M.com

Ongoing campaign to have the road surface on the A1M quietened down with whisper quiet asphalt. Moving in the right direction with plans and maps available on site for limited proposed resurfacing.

www.cond.org.uk

A campaign launched by Grant Shapps to remove the DNA profiles of 24,000 innocent children from the police National DNA database. The problem came to light after a Welwyn Garden City boy was found to have his details recorded, despite being entirely innocent.
