Grant joined staff at The Entertainer’s Welwyn Garden City branch in the Howard Centre as they planned a week of celebrations having completed a year of the store’s staff being ‘Geared For Giving’, having set up a workplace giving scheme which allows staff to give a tax efficient gift to the charity of their choice, direct from their pay.
Grant said he was delighted to mark the occasion with staff especially as in just twelve months The Entertainer has seen 25% of its staff give to charity this way, culminating a few weeks ago in The Entertainer winning the National Pay and Benefits Award last month.
‘I was impressed to see how committed staff here are to charitable giving, and wanted to visit to congratulate everyone on this milestone- well done!’
Despite the tough economic times, this independent toy shop chain is expanding rapidly, and the Welwyn Garden City store is now one of 71 across the country.
